Colin Abraham
Director

Key function: financials

A former fund manager, Colin began his career in 1979 at Scottish Equitable after obtaining an honours degree in economics from Strathclyde University.

He moved to Asia in 1985, spending six years with Banque Indosuez in Hong Kong and Tokyo, where he set up Indosuez Asset Management Japan and became its CEO.

Having taken an MBA from Edinburgh University he returned to Asia where he was co-founder of Carlson Far East, an asset management business which grew to have $2.3bn in funds.

Since returning to Britain and the sale of Carlson to Skandia Group in 2000, Colin has been advising in company start-ups and re-structurings in several industries including financial services, software, and biotechnology. In 2003 he established Charlotte Square Managers, an asset manager linked to FAB Assurance.


Andrew Campbell
Director

Key functions: marketing & distribution

Andrew produced his first set of business accounts at age 19 while still at university, and in some shape or form has been operating on his own account since then.

He is chairman of Newton-Barr plc Advisers & Actuaries, based in Charlotte Square, Edinburgh, one of Scotland’s leading financial consultancies.

Outwith financial services Andrew has two long-standing directorships; DP&L Group (1826) which has interests in international shipping, industrial supplies, recruitment, and travel management; and Drumsheugh Baths Club Ltd (1882), Edinburgh’s oldest private swimming club.


Graham Dumble

Key functions: regulation & compliance, corporate governance

Graham joined Scottish Equitable in 1977 and qualified as an actuary in 1987. He was appointed Marketing Director in 1993, Operations Director in 1997, then following the formation of Aegon UK in 1999 he was appointed Managing Director of Scottish Equitable, subsequently becoming Managing Director of Aegon UK Life & Pensions in 2003.

While with Aegon, Graham had oversight of several group functions including; audit, compliance, legal, information security, corporate governance, and risk management.

Active in industry matters, he recently chaired the Association of British Insurers (ABI) Distribution & Regulation committee, and was also a member of the ABI’s Life Insurance Council Management and Consumer Strategy committees.


William Frain-Bell

Key function: legal

Bill was educated at Loretto School and before pursuing a career in law he obtained degrees from the universities of St Andrews, Aberdeen, Regensburg, and London (Queen Mary).

An advocate and barrister he was called to the Bar first in Scotland (1999) and then in England & Wales (2000, Middle Temple).

Bill has a post-graduate diploma from the School of International Arbitration in London and has lectured extensively on contract law and dispute resolution.

His international reputation keeps him in high demand both in the UK and around the world.
